What are your favourite Alex Ashes to Ashes moments?

The final few episodes of Ashes to Ashes are almost upon us and we've been pondering what was our favourite Alex moments in all of the seasons.  For me, I loved the ending of series one, where Alex watched her parents' car explode and she was so shocked and stunned.  The sheer emotion Keeley put into her scream almost had me in tears.

Tell us what are your favourite moments!

It's really hard to choose,

It's really hard to choose, but I'd say the end of the first episode where Gene pours Alex a ludicrously full glass of wine and you see her realise she's stuck in the 1980s...so melancholy and just perfect.

FAR FAR TO MANY TO MENTION,,,

FAR FAR TO MANY TO MENTION,,, BUT LOVED THE BIT WHERE SHE NICKED GENES CAR, AND THEY WERE ARGUEING AND SHE WAS "OFF THE TEAM"...CLASSIC AN ALSO THE ABOVE MENTION SCREAM AT PARENTS DEATH WAS VERY MOVING AN MEMORABLE...LOVE ASHES AN LOVE ALEX....

To be honest i have so many its actually so haard (: but i think its when alex punches gene i could'nt stop laughingg for daays (: x

Fave Alex moments

For me, it was the part where Alex and Gene got stuck in the vault and she was scared that she was going to die. Keeley made it so believable when she said 'I can't die, can I?' and the fact that Gene comforted her showed the connection both of the characters have. Keeley and Phil work really well together to pull off such chemistry.I also really liked the bit when they went to the sewers in series 2 and Alex got the tunnels mixed up and Gene said 'I think Alex knows what a 69 is'. Once again this was Alex and Gene, but they really do work so well together to make such great tv moments. In series 1, episode 2 when Alex went for a drive with the business man and she thought the bomb had gone off in his car was I really good moment. Keeley portrayed Alex's hysterics extremely well and I was impressed with her acting! :)

Series 3 ep 2: I thought it

Series 3 ep 2: I thought it was funny when the woman in the dating agency said to Alex; 'Miss Winslet...' Then Alex replied; 'Oh, call me Kate' :D Priceless!

First series, second episode.

First series, second episode. I think Keeley portrayed Alex so well right at the beginning, strutting around and treating all our beloved Life On Mars characters like, "figments" yet still really drawing the audience in and making us feel sorry for this frightened woman. Fantastic writing for Alex too, with the comedy of the bum-stamping and the Danny Moore escapades literally stirred together with the creepy club scene and bomb in the car. But it just worked! The ep had some mint camera shots too, especially the drunken-barge-dark moment in the club when it was all swoopy! For me, this was when Ashes became its own show. And I realised I was going to have to watch every darn one till it finished!

Alex favourite moments...

...God, this is hard - I don't think I can make myself choose! I equally adored that raw, primal scream of anger, sadness and failure in 1.8...it absolutely broke my heart and I sobbed along with Alex, and the same goes with the fake car bomb scene with Danny Moore in 1.2 - When she instantly panicked, lost control and then came to once they realised it was a fake, laughing hysterically along with Danny, then with the laughter turning into sobs I cried uncontrollably once again, I was just so caught up in the emotion that Keeley put into that scene. She is truly amazing at conveying emotion either in speech, movement or just the smallest of facial expressions, and especially those eyes, those dancing orbs, the most expressive I have ever seen. Like when her and Philip are together in a scene...nothing needs to be said because the eyes and the deep chemistry between them says it all, and it either oozes out of the screen, or pours from it in a fiery, sparky burst......So I can't choose, in all honesty. I love funny Alex, I love vulnerable, fiesty, motherly, sexy, flirty, professional, tired, emotional, deep, childish, sad, smiling, laughing Alex. Keeley does all of these things better than anyone. It's not just her famed ability to convey raw emotion, but also her comic timing, which is SPOT on, and that's without the million "one-liners" that Phil's script is laden with (and which I love, of course)...her comedy comes from her reaction to the team and her surroundings, and the way she deals with her situation and relates to the others. It's in the little looks, or the delivery of a line that has you smiling wryly or laughing loudly.......and I could bang on all day, but I'll stop... I will miss Alex more than any other heroine/hero of mine, but for the last 6 episodes we're yet to see, will enjoy every second of Keeley's performance, because she is so, so talented, inimitable, beautiful and real. (And if Alex decides she really wants to kiss Gene in the next 6 hours of telly, I wouldn't mind that either! Perhaps THAT will be my favourite scene...  ;)   )

My favourite Alex Ashes to Ashes moments

My favourite Alex moments that immediately spring to mind are as follows:( 1 ). The scene in the very first episode where she wakes up in 1981 is fantastic. I just love the way the makers of the show have totally changed the landscape of the river themes. And the way Alex looks so confused as to her whereabouts.( 2 ). Another of my favourite Alex moments occurs in series 2 in the episode were she meets Peter as a child aged 14 in 1982. Peter, as we all know, is the future father of his & Alex's daughter Molly. What makes this fasinating to watch is the way Alex confronts him and has a proper go at him for abandoning Molly while at exactly the same time she's aware that he has no idea what she's actually talking about. He thinks Alex is refering to the cat ( also named Molly ) and calls Alex weird. I love the way Alex reacts to being called weird by suddenly becoming even more angry and even starts prodding Peter. This does actually make Peter scared for a few seconds ( you can tell by the expression on his face ).( 3 ). I also like the moment Alex gets taken to a club by her date in episode 2 of series 1. When Alex is dancing I persoanally know a couple of the people who are also dancing in that scene as extras for the programme ( one of them is very clearly visible dancing away to the left of the screen, with Alex's date in the middle, and Alex to the far right. The other one is at the other side of the room where they filmed the scene but I can see him ). Having just read the comment about when Alex witnessed her parents being blown up in the car at the end of series 1 reminded me of the first time I viewed that scene. I remember feeling a little bit shocked and slightly moved. It was the power & emotion in Keeley's scream that did it. I would'nt say it was really a favourite Alex moment. It is a very memorable one though.

My contribution to favourite Alex moments from Ashes

My favouite Alex moments in this fantastic follow up to Life On Mars are as follows:1. ) I love the scene where Alex wakes up in the 80's and the entire landscape of the river themes has changed to how it used to be. And the confusion she's experiencing as to her whereabouts. Brilliantly done.2. ) The scene in the episode where she meets Peter ( the future father of their daughter Molly ). When he's a 14 year old child. The way she is angry and having a go at him even though she knows he does not really know what's she's talking about makes this scene fasinating to watch ( he thinks Alex is refering to the cat called Molly ). And the way she reacts when he calls her weird by turning her wrath up a notch and actually frightening him a bit ( you can tell by the look on his face ) is brilliant. The very mixed emotions Alex is feeling also make this a fasinating scene ( ''Look at you. You're almost cute. I said almost... ).3. ) The scene in the first series where Alex goes to the club with her date. Only because I've got a couple of friends who were lucky enough to be extras in that scene.4. ) The scene at the end of series 1 where Alex watches her parents get blown up in the car. I remember feeling a bit moved and slighty alarmed by this. It was the raw power and emotion of Keeley's scream that did that. Great acting.

My favourite moment, well

My favourite moment, well moments *ahem*  from series 3 are: - Episode 4 , when Gene finds Alex unconscious in her flat. When he goes to kiss her, the Alex in the coffin screams ! Love that moment. (: - And of course in Ep 7&8 the intimate GAlex scenes , brilliantly acted, it was really emotional. Tears of happiness and heartbreak combined with pure hate for Keats. 'I know this, much is True..'
